An Open Letter to Marjorie Taylor Greene

Representative Greene,

You have said a great many things about people like me, loudly and on camera, and they share one feature: each requires an audience. The rhetoric is not built to solve anything. It is built for the clip, the fundraising email, and the next cycle of outrage you can convert into attention.

I am not your applause line. I am a citizen of a country you help govern, an engineer who keeps unglamorous systems running, a person whose existence you have found useful as an enemy. The banner you wave against me is stitched out of my ordinary life.

You will not get a fight from me, because the fight is the product you are selling. You will get something far less profitable for you: my complete indifference to your approval, and my refusal to be frightened into disappearing.
