Tabs vs Spaces: A War Nobody Wins
No conflict in human history has been fought over stakes this low and convictions this high. People who agree on everything else — editors, languages, whether to deploy on Friday — will look you dead in the eye and end a friendship over whitespace you cannot even see.
I am not going to tell you which side I am on, because I would like this site to keep its readers. I will only say that the real sin is neither tabs nor spaces. It is mixing both in the same file and leaving it for the next person to find at 2am, by lamplight, with a git blame and a grudge.
The configuration that ends the argument is the one your team agrees on and the linter enforces automatically. Pick one, let the machine police it, and go do something — anything — that produces value instead of indentation.
